Current BK Radios
BK makes rugged field programmable radios are widely popular at the US Forest Service & NIFC & Wildland Firefighters. They make analog & P25 digital handhelds.
The BK DPHX Series radios are P25/Analog handheld radios. They are field programmable including the channel labels.
The DPHX5102 is a P25/Analog digital radio, its frequency range is 136-174MHz. It supports splinter channels and narrow band operation. It has 400 channels in 25 zones of 16 channels
The DPH series of radios are very rugged radios encased in a metal housing. Their frequency range is 148-174mhz. There is no known way to make these radios work in the ham band. BK/Relm have a program to shift the lower frequency range down to 144mhz however the management of BK/Relm has made it very clear to all employee's that it is not to be shared with anyone outside of the company.
The GPHX radios are also analog only radios that can be upgraded (by the factory to full P25 digital operation. Most of them have the same internals as the DPHX radio just with analog only firmware.

The DMHX Series mobile radios are P25/Analog field programmable radios. They have a frequency range of 136MHz - 174MHz.
the DMH Series radios are P25/analog field programmable radios. They have a frequency range of 136MHz - 174MHz.
The GMHX Series radios are analog only field programmable radios. They have a frequency range of 1236MHz - 174MHz.
